Tolerance is an asymmetrical trading card game with variable game goals and a deeply rooted theme. Three to five players deal with the conflict between Protestants and Catholics in England in the 16th and early 17th centuries.
Tolerance uses a trick-taking mechanism where the winner of each trick carries out the actions on the cards played - regardless of whether they are advantageous or not!
The game is played over three rounds, each covering the reign of a single monarch: Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth I and King James.Tolerance will highlight the suffering that humanity brings upon itself because of a supposedly “false” belief – a topic that is as relevant today as it was almost 500 years ago.
